Emiliano Grillo’s Slam-Dunk Hole-in-One in the virtual 16th caused wild scenes at PGA Tour’s WM Phoenix Open, where Thomas Detry broke a two-stroke lead in the second round.
Grillo landed a 155 -meter ace in one of the rough golf holes, as his ball ran around the cup sometimes before finally falling.
The Argentine ran around the box to celebrate with his Caddy and play Rafael Campos and Seamus Power partners.
Fans usually went wild, launching beer and other drinks on the t -shirt and green, after seeing the first ace in the hole from the 2022 version, when Sam Ryder and Carlos Ortiz achieved the feat.
Grillo’s hole in one came in two or less than 69, leading him to the same number for the tournament and just inside the cutting line.
Detry leads to Phoenix after seven seconds
Detry leader came close to Acing 16, also landing his ball within two legs before he was birdie.
This was one of the eight profits in a seven-day day for the Belgians, who unfolded three in a row and closed with two more Birdies to reach 12 for the event.
Alex Smalley and Michael Kim are secondary at 10 with Tom Kim, Jordan Spieth – who left 13 and 15 – and Christiaan bezuidenhout a stroke.
Justin Thomas is among a group of five huge eight down, one in front of the world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, who shot a peak of five under 66 in Arizona on Friday.
Scheffler returned to last week’s Pebble Beach Pro -am – an event won by Rory Mcilroy – for the first time since he injured his hand preparing the Christmas dinner.
