‘Good result but not good performance’

Manchester United leader Ruben Amorim again criticized his players despite reaching the fifth round of the FA Cup.

The Red Devils rushed to Leicester thanks to the winner of Harry Maguire’s latest Gasp, but it was not without a dispute.

The former Leicester Central Army shook the house in the final seconds, but was in a clear offside.

But without being used during use during the first rounds, the target stood with the lines missing some four United players, was offside.

Amorim will win, but admits that it was not an excellent performance in the Old Trafford-a common topic of interviews after the race this season.

He said: “We had to believe to the end, but this game has nothing to do with Fergie’s time. I think performance, we have to do much better with the ball without the ball.

“We had no action at first, especially in the first half. Then, in the second half we played a little better, with a little more speed, winning second balls. Then we managed to turn things around, so it was a good result not a good performance.

“The coach is the first responsible when a team does not perform. He does not improve. He is the coach, but we are here to do things and see the game, study the game and try to improve for the next game.

“I think they are the little things. If you see games sometimes it is to check the ball, to have the ball. Don’t give the ball away to the first pressure. They are the little things. They are the big things. They are all.

“It’s at the moment. It’s difficult, but especially at home, but we have to deal with it and we’ll try to make it the next game.”

Leicester leader Ruud van Nistelrooy was confused with the decision and joked that his time was lost in “Offside Time”.

He said: “We haven’t won in the Fergie Time, we’re losing in the offside time.

“This was not necessary. VAR have in two centimeters, a few inches, this was half a meter, clean in a row. This was hard to get because the team is worth making in the end. Then, extra time, stay in the game, you never know what’s going on.

“It was a very good performance of the team. He started very well, pushing United. On the ball it is very stable. It deserved to go 1-0 at halftime. Of course we know in the second half they are going to put some pressure on us and some chances but Not even so much.

“We deserved to go in an extra time, go for the battle in extra time and maybe sanctions.

“Decisions like those at our level are difficult to swallow.”
