Kevin Costner shared some of the “special memories” he’s had this year with some of his kids.
On Monday, Dec. 2, Costner, 69, wished his Instagram followers a happy Thanksgiving as photo sharing of the actor spending time with six of his children. The first slide features a sweet shot of Costner smiling alongside Annie, Grace, Joe, Cayden and Hayes on the beach, while the second slide shows Cayden and Costner laughing together on a bed. The last two slides consisted of a clip of Annie, Joe, Caden, Hayes and Grace at Costner’s Horizon: An American Saga — Chapter 1 premiere and a black and white photo of him with Annie, Lily, Grace, Caden and Hayes at a recent event.
Costner’s son Liam was noticeably absent from all the photos.
“I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving with the people you love the most,” Costner captioned the carousel of images. “At the top of my ‘thankful for’ list are the many really, really special memories I’ve made with my kids this year. Here’s to a holiday season dedicated to doing more.”
Over the summer, Costner gushed that he was going to be a father to his seven children.
“They are like shooting stars. My life is driving up and down the highway just trying to get the kids where they think they need to be … but that’s part of the job,” he said people in June, adding that his family remains the “anchor” in his life. “They know I have this chosen job, but honestly, I’m really aware of where my responsibility is at the end of the day.”
Lately, so has Costner praised his youngest son, Hayes for “presenting a beautiful performance” after turning it on Horizon: An American Saga — and explained why he chose Hayes for the role.
“I didn’t push my kids into the business,” Costner explained to Today in June. “I realize there are so many young actors who would just kill to be in this movie, and I don’t want to take those roles away from them just because I can put my own kids in.” But this case was a smaller role. I selfishly wanted him to be with me for a week, for two weeks he was with me.
Later that month, Hayes couldn’t help but erupt works with his father.
“I got to spend all day with him every day and just see him work. … I had such a blast,” he said Entertainment tonightadding that it was “really cool” and “amazing” when he saw the footage. “I was really proud of my dad. He worked so long. I could only think of my father at that moment.
