Arsenal director Mikel Arteta was frustrated by the lack of signatures in January.
The boss Gunners made very clear in numerous press conferences that the club needed a new striker to compete for the Premier League title.
But with a temporary offer for Ollie Watkins hit back and a Mathys Tel deal never really implement, there is another topic on the upper end of the court for Arteta and Co.
Gabriel Jesus is out with an injury, like Bukayo Saka, while Kai Havertz provides warm and cold form.
Speaking in front of Arsenal’s Carabao Cup semifinal second leg, Arteta said: “We had a clear intent that is always when a window opens to explore the opportunities for improving our team. With players with injuries, we have been affected and we have not succeed.
“We are disappointed with this sense, but we also know that we only want to bring some types of players and we must be very disciplined with it as well.

“When you try your best and do things. You see people and share the same intentions. When you don’t achieve it okay. There are definitely things to learn from it.
“But you have to go ahead and this is a piece that was important at the moment, but now we have moved on.
“It’s in the profile, a player who can make us better. There are many ways financially, many things we need to stay in the lane that has taken us so far and from there we try to improve.”
Looking forward, Arteta should continue to be creative with its first line. Havertz, Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli can all play in the role of the striker, and the Spaniard must find the registration option if the Gunners are going to surpass Newcastle on Wednesday night.
He added: “We have to be flexible at the forefront, what we have to make sure they remain appropriate and contribute, they can play in this position.
“Raheem (Sterling) has played in this position, Ethan (Nwaneri) I think can play in this position, (gabriel) Martinelli, so let’s look at the way everyone is right now.
“But at some point I think we should try something different.”
