Blue comes from behind to go fourth

Chelsea rallied after the break to come from a goal and beat West Ham on Graham Potter’s return to Stamford Bridge.

The home side was outdated for long periods and well -organized visitors to Potter took advantage of a worthy lead at the end of the first half via Jarrod Bowen.

But a very improved screen in the second half was rewarded when Pedro Neto swept on an equalizer.

And Cole Palmer-in a hurry-had a hand to the winner when his low cross/shot fell out of Aaron Wan-Bissaka to give Chelsea the points that took them back fourth in the Premier League.

Potter, on his first return to the ground since he was fired by Chelsea in 2023, will have seen a lot to be excited.

Bowen returned from an injury to be described for the first time in 2025 and was excellent throughout, opening the scoring with a brilliant low finish after a mistake by Levi Colwill.

Enzo Maresca had seen quite a bit and made four changes from the 52nd minute.

And one of them, former Wolves Winger Neto, dragged their level with a strong finish after Marc Cucurella turned the ball back to the goal.

Palmer-who had seven goal shots in the game-then led to the area and shot in a ball that ran over Alphonse Areola’s head through the former Wan-Bissaka of Manchester United.

Mohammed Kudus had a slowly blocked shot as Hammers fought through seven minutes of extra time, but Chelsea was held.
