Steven Gerrard is the last of the golden generation of England to suffer from his career with the former Liverpool Midfielder.
Gerrard’s two -year spell in Saudi Pro League is over Compulsory style as it leaves the al-Estifaq 12th in the league, having failed to reinforce its restoration after removing it from Aston Villa.
His departure comes a few weeks after another former captain three Lions Wayne Rooney was fired by Plymouth, with Frank Lampard recently returning to Coventry administration.
They were greeted as some of England’s best players, and all three fought to prove that they were able to forge with similar successful careers in the hotseat of the administration.
Here is how the Golden generation of England has reached the administration so far.
Garry Neville
The first of the English players of Genaration to enter the top job, Gary Neville had great hopes of success when he was appointed Valencia boss in December 2015.
Neville, who retired from playing in 2011, was considered one of the glittering young minds in English football after a successful spell as a pundit at Sky Sports and Management was considered as the next step, having also spent time as a Roy Hodgson assistant In England.
But his time in Spain could hardly get worse, with former Manchester United fired just over three months and 28 games later.
Of the 16 championship matches he managed, he won only three games and felt the rage of supporters when the Valencia side was hit 7-0 at Copa del Rey.
Neville has since said about his experience in Spain: “I was a young English coach, I didn’t speak the language, I got to a difficult time and the truth is that it was too much for me.”
VERDICT: It is hard to call Neville a bad manager based on this difficult spell, but it is probably better to get stuck in Punditry, where he has been proven to be much more successful.
Steven Gerrard
Gerrard was the next to try his luck as the boss, as, after a long time responsible for Liverpool’s under 18, he was given the huge work to restore the Rangers to their former glory in May 2018.
The first signs were good, making Gers competitive again in the Europa League last in the 2019-20 season.
In 2020-21, he made himself a hero in the blue half of Glasgow, as he guided them to Scotland Premiership, preventing Celtic’s bitter opponents from winning their 10th in a row, going undefeated and accumulating 102 points on the road.
A few months later, Gerrard secured his return to the Premier League as he was appointed director of Aston Villa after Dean Smith’s dismissal. Once again, the first signs were good as it guided the Villans away from the problem of relegation, though in indefinite style.
But a bad start for the season 2022-23 saw his term unfolding only 11 months in and fired after a terrifying 3-0 defeat to Fulham let them hover over the relegation zone as supporters activated his former image Liverpool.
Gerrard then shocked many when he chose to take his management career in the Saudi Pro League. His time responsible for Al-Estifaq did not reinforce his management credentials-but may have destroyed it more.
After leaving them in a sixth place in his unique full season, he leaves the 12th Club in the 18 teams championship, five points above the relegation zone after winning only two of their 11 games in this season.

VERDICT: Gerrard’s last two management spells have certainly damaged his reputation after being greeting as the brightest of the bunch, while with the Rangers. Villa’s work was probably very much, very soon, and it’s hard to judge in the Saudi Pro League.
Because of this, Gerrard will probably have another chance in England, but he will almost certainly have to take a job in the lower areas of the league or below.
Frank Lambard
In the same month, Gerrard took the Rangers concert, Lampard settled as director of the Derby Championship.
And similarly with Gerrard, the former Chelsea midfielder seemed to be natural in the role, guiding them RAMs in an unlikely final play-off in his unique season, utilizing his contacts to bring to those who like Fikayo Tomori and Mason Mount On Loan from Stamford Bridge.
Lampard gave his dream work amazingly next summer, with Chelsea choosing the former Champions League to see them through a period of uncertainty caused by an embargo.
He did more than a respectable job in his first season, guiding the Blues in the Champions League Pord and brought to many young stars.
He unfolded halfway through the next season, with a bad run for the results that lead to his redundancies, with Thomas Tuchel taking over in the glory of the Champions League.
Lampard did long enough to stay in the Premier League with Everton, but once again he started well, guiding Tofffees in safety from relegation.
But it was sour in January once again as it was fired in the midst of relegation fears. His most recent work was another stop to see the season 2022-23 after the removal of Graham Potter, where he only won one of his 11 responsible games.
He is now back in the administration with Coventry, who has lifted to the 12th after his six of his 13 games after replacing Mark Robins.
VERDICT: The jury remains out. Lampard should not be judged for his last moment in Chelsea, but his first spell, as well as Everton’s possession, were almost convincing.
A return to the league with Coventry, which is similar to Derby, looks like a good place to restore its restoration. Whether it’s a good move for Coventry, after years of success under the Robins, it’s another matter.
Wayne Runin
Wayne Rooney’s management trip also started with Derby, but with the club in a much more difficult position as they had roots at the bottom of the championship.
Following his entry from the role of the player, the former aggressive man UTD chose impressive 31 points from a possible 54 of his first 18 matches to finally save the financial-Striquen Club from relegation against the odds.
But a 21-point discount saw them fall into the League One anyway-prompting Rooney to resign. A few weeks later, he returned to Atlanta United, where he had previously starred during the last years of his career.
Rooney lost MLS’s play-offs in both of his seasons and left America to return to England with the city of Birmingham in a surprise move, after former boss John Eustace had sixth on the table.
His time in St Andrews was a disaster, with the blues going from sixth to 20th to just 15 matches, who won only twice.
The 39 -year -old was fired just three months after his attitude before landing another league work with Plymouth a few months later.
This also failed to last a whole season as it was rejected in early January with pilgrims rooted at the bottom of the championship.

VERDICT: Rooney’s mamagerial prospects have gotten a huge beating after his last two managerial work with blues and plymouth. The striker seems desperate to do so in the administration, but he may be better to take a short break to evaluate his choices after two intense tensures.
It seems unlikely another side of the championship will play at Rooney at the moment, so returning to MLS or maybe a spell in Europe can be the best bet.
The rest
Their teammates in England were not very successful. Paul Scholes He managed a game as a Salford Interim Boss before lasting only seven games responsible for Oldham and failed since 2019.
Gary’s brother Phil Neville He had fixed spells responsible for the lions and inter Miami and now there are 38 games in his time with Portland Timbers.
SOL Campbell He guided MacClesfield in Security in 2018, but his time responsible for Southend proved to be a disaster and has not succeeded since.
The most promising of the two can be Scott Parker and Michael Carrick, Although there is a discussion on whether they should be included as part of the “golden generation”.
Parker has been promoted to both Fulham and Bournemouth and today has Burnley in the third. Carrick’s Middlesbrough are also at the Play-Off positions following a challenge to promote it in October 2022 after two races responsible for the former Club United.
