Arsenal See £ 60 million offer for Aston Villa Striker Ollie Watkins is rejected

Arsenal has made a bold attempt to sign Aston Villa Ollie Watkins striker as the deadline is approached.

Mikel Arteta, a long -standing fan of international England, prompted the club to act for their interest in the 29 -year -old in front of the Gunners lacking a suitable and traditional striker.

Reports say Arsenal’s initial offer – believed to be about 60 million pounds – has been rejected for Watkins, but is expected to return with improved offer in an effort to secure its services before February 3.

With the three years remaining in his contract at Villa Park, Watkins remains an integral part of the Unai Emery team.

However, the prospect of a transition to the Emirates could attract the striker, who has previously spoken about his admiration for Arsenal and would immediately be challenged to win the Premier League title.

While in Bradford in 2020, Watkins said: “This is the dream, to play for Arsenal one day. But, you know, it’s a long shot.”

Despite Arsenal’s intense interest, Villa is in a safe position due to the current Watkins contract, making any possible transfer of significant challenge.

Whether Gunners can reach an agreement remains for discussion.

This season, Watkins has won 10 goals in 31 appearances for the villa, including one in a recent 2-2 draw against Arsenal in the Emirates.

Villa is also in negotiations with the Al-Nassr Saudi Arabian side to sell high scorer Jhon Duran.

The Midlands Association is believed to be estimated at about 80 million pounds.
