Exclusive: The widow of the deceased owner of San Diego Padres Peter Seidler expressed herself against her brother -in -law who claimed that her lawsuit prevented him from signing the Star Pitcher team Roki Sasaki.
The brother of Seidler, Matthew Seidler, provided a statement to Fox News Digital on Tuesday and suggested that Sheel Kamal Seidler’s lawsuit Against him came during a “critical time” of negotiations with Sasaki. Matthew’s statement also claimed that their recruitment efforts were influenced by the fact that her lawsuit claimed that he and his brother Robert tried to move the Padres elsewhere.
The representatives of Seidler have provided a statement to FOX News Digital and said that her lawsuit would not have prevented the Sasaki team from signing if she was involved in the recruitment process.
“Matt and Robert Seidler must be relieved to have an easy scapegoat for the fact that they do not sign Roki Sasaki. And help do what is best for the Padres,” was the explanation.

Sasaki himself said that one of the reasons he chose was to sign with the Dodgers because of the stability of the organization during his introductory press conference last week.
“The number 1 that stood out (about the Dodgers) was the stability of the front office,” the pitcher said through a translator.
Seidler’s lawsuit against the brothers of her deceased husband, Matthew and Robert, was submitted at the beginning of January, trying to grab control of the team of them for her children.
She claimed that Peter revealed before his death that his dying wish was that she was in control of the Padres, followed by their children, and that her children own the utmost importance. She added that the two brothers of Peter, Matt and Bob, “try to erase Peter’s vision and inheritance, and falsely throw herself as Peter’s true heirs.”
“I made this decision as a very last resort, but I am convinced that it is the right one, and the best way to protect the Padres franchise and to guarantee the vision that Peter and I shared for the team will continue”, “, She said in a statement after submitting her first complaint on January 6.
The suit also claims that Robert’s wife has several “racist, profane and hateful communication aimed at Sheel – a woman of Indian descent – in communication,” and that the two brothers try to “struggle” the control of the ball club to “one Indian-American woman “of taking what they” saw as their family business and ancestral law “

Peter died in November 2023 at the age of 63. He had been sick for months, although it was not announced exactly what he had to do with. Seidler is one Cancer survivor who had had health problems for some time.
De Padres are currently owned by Peter’s estate, while John Seidler, Peter’s oldest brother, is mentioned as the interim control person for the team. However, John cannot be officially referred to as three -quarters of the owners of Major League Baseball approve.
In addition to claiming the widow’s lawsuit, the team prevented Sasaki from signing, Matthew’s response claimed that Peter never indicated that he wanted them to have control over the team after his death.
“Peter could have chosen (a) to give them the right to indicate or approve the person who controls the Padres, (B) Sheel direct ownership or control over the interest of the trust in the Padres, (( c) Give the Shoot the Shoot the right to approve or have all transactions of the managers, or (d) requires that the trustee makes a main distribution that Sheel demands, “was the answer.
The reaction claims that Peter changed his confidence at least seven times after their marriage and never mentioned a successor of a successor in a version and that she was excluded from ‘once under some circumstance as a successor to Trustee’.
The answer also claims that during his life Peter said he wanted his brothers and sisters and niece to take control of the team after his death.
“Peter had countless conversations with his brothers and sisters and others about successor -check -people and consistently identified five Seidler family members as candidates: Bob, Matt, John, his brother Tom (who has a 30+ year career in baseball, including 12 years at the Padres), and his niece, Monica, “it was said.
“In none of these conversations, Peter ever suggested that he wanted Sheel de Padres to lead. As Peter told people close to him, he moved his family to Texas in a significant part in 2021 because he “wanted to take the pressure from them and the children and” come out of the spotlights. ” Peter knew all too well the potential effects of media attention, as well as the other pressure, stress and requirements associated with possessing a sports franchise. “

In a separate reaction to FOX News Digital, the representatives of Sheel expressed the confidence that she will win in court.
“The reaction, for all his bravado, is especially thin in responding to the very specific and serious allegations of Matt and Robert Seidler’s infringements of Fiduciary duty. It is ironic to accuse them – Peter’s wife of two decades and the mother of his Three children – from abusing his assets, while at the same time picking the benefits of Peter’s generosity. “
