President Donald Trump pushed back on Colombian President Gustavo Petro on Sunday after Petro’s regime refused to let US deportation flights land in his country.
“I have just been informed that two repatriation flights from the United States, carrying a large number of illegal criminals, were not allowed to land in Colombia. This order was given by the Socialist President Gustavo Petro of Colombia, who is already very unpopular among his people,” Trump wrote on social media.
“Petro’s denial of these flights has endangered the national security and public safety of the United States, so I have directed my administration to immediately take the following urgent and decisive retaliatory actions:
-Exit of 25% tariffs on all goods entering the United States. In a week the rates of 25% increase to 50%.
-A travel ban and immediate visa revocations for Colombian government officials and all allies and supporters.
-Visa sanctions on all party members, family members and supporters of the Colombian government.
-Nhanced Customs and Border Protection Inspections of all Colombian nationals and cargo on national security grounds.
-Eepa Treasury, Banking and Financial Sanctions must be fully imposed.
These measures are just the beginning. We will not allow the Colombian government to violate its legal obligations regarding the acceptance and return of the criminals they forced into the United States! he wrote.
