The terrorist group Hamas released four additional hostages from Gaza on Saturday ceasefire agreement with Israel came into effect almost a week ago.
Karina Ariev, Daniella Gilboa, Naama Levy and Liri Albag – all members of the Israeli army – were released on Saturday in the second round of hostage releases.
In return, Israel was expected to release 200 Palestinian prisoners, including 120 militants serving life sentences after being convicted of deadly attacks.
The first round of hostage releases on Sunday saw the release of Romi Gonen, Emily Demari and Doron Steinbrecher.

“The Red Cross has announced that four Israeli hostages have been handed over to them and are on their way to IDF and ISA forces in the region. Gaza Strip,” the IDF and the Israeli Securities Authority said in a joint statement.
It was believed that, at least at one time, the four female soldiers were all kept together.
Under the ceasefire, a total of 33 hostages, including those already freed, are to be released over the course of six weeks in exchange for hundreds of Palestinians jailed by Israel.

Hamas agreed to release three female hostages on the first day of the deal, four on the seventh day and the remaining 26 over the next five weeks.
This is the second ceasefire reached during the war that started over a year ago.

The 15 month one war in Gaza began when Hamas launched a surprise attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, prompting military retaliation from Israeli forces. Nearly a hundred hostages are still trapped in Gaza.
