Crystal Palace are preparing a £15m bid to land the Liverpool target


Crystal Palace are reportedly stepping up their pursuit of highly-rated Slavia Prague midfielder El Hadji Malik Diouf as they aim to strengthen their squad during the current January transfer window.

The Premier League side are looking to strengthen their squadand Diouf, who has impressed scouts with his versatility, is considered an ideal addition to their ranks.

According to Alan Nixon via PatreonPalace are preparing to make a £15m bid for the 20-year-old Senegalese player after Palace scouts were left very impressed by his performance during a recent training match in Spain.

Diouf’s versatility is one of the main reasons behind Palace’s interest. Able to play as a centre-back, left-back and left-midfielder, he offers tactical flexibility that could address many areas of need in manager Oliver Glasner’s side. His ability to play in a variety of roles provides a valuable asset to a team looking to add depth and versatility to their defensive and midfield positions.

The young midfielder has been in excellent form for Slavia Prague this season, making 28 appearances in all competitions. Operating primarily as a left midfielder, Diouf has contributed six goals and three assists, showing his attacking prowess and overall contribution to the team.

Diouf’s career began at the Mawade Wade Academy in Senegal, before moving to Norwegian side Tromso in February 2023. Although he faced a slow start, the midfielder found his rhythm in the second half of the season and his performances won him Slavia Prague in January 2024. There, Diouf made an immediate impact, scoring at debut and quickly established himself as a key figure for the club.

Palace look determined to beat their competition, which includes Liverpool of the Premier Leagueto secure the signature of the promising player.

Currently 12th in the Premier League, Crystal Palace are looking to consolidate their form and climb further up the table in the second half of the season.

With the transfer window closing soon, Palace are preparing to make a decisive move to secure Diouf’s services and a £15m bid could be the key to bringing the talented midfielder to Selhurst Park.
