Paramount+The Yellowstone background story 1923 returns for another chapter.
The spinoff series first premiered in December 2022. The series is a continuation of Yellowstonethe first backstory, 1883and stars Helen Mirren and Harrison Ford as Kara and Jacob Dutton, ancestors of Kevin Costnr’s Yellowstone hero, John Dutton III. Season 1 followed the Dutton clan as they dealt with challenges including a historic drought and Prohibition.

Who is in the cast of ‘1923’ season 2?
Ford and Mirren will return to reprise their roles. They will be joined by fellow Season 1 cast members Brandon Sklenar (Spencer Dutton), Julia Schleipfer (Alexandra), Jerome Flynn (Banner Creighton), Darren Mann (Jack Dutton), Brian Geraghty (Zane Davies) Amina Nieves (Teonna Rainwater), Michelle Randolph (Liz Stratford) and Timothy Dalton (Donald Whitfield).

What is ‘1923’ Season 2 about?
Season 2 of the Paramount+ original series will follow the Dutton family as they face a new set of obstacles.
“In the second season of 1923a brutal winter brings new challenges and unfinished business to Jacob and Kara back at Dutton Ranch,” reads an official synopsis. “With harsh conditions and adversaries threatening to end Dutton’s legacy, Spencer embarks on a difficult journey home, racing against time to save her family in Montana. Meanwhile, Alexandra embarks on her own harrowing transatlantic journey to find Spencer and rekindle their love.”
1923 creator Taylor Sheridan described Season 2 as “really the second half of the (first) season” during a December 2022 interview. with Deadline.
“I’m the one who called the net, which is probably the greatest call they’ve ever had. “Hey, I have to do more episodes to finish this story. I need to do this in two blocks. A block of eight episodes and a second block of eight episodes to wrap that up. I can’t pack it into two episodes and do the story justice,” Sheridan explained.
Sheridan added that Ford and Mirren are “thrilled” and “eager” to do a second season.
“Harrison made a comment at one point and said, ‘Taylor, I think I’m doing the best thing I’ve done in 20 years. And my response to him was, “What the hell did you do 20 years ago that was so good?”
Is There A Trailer For ‘1923’ Season 2?
Yes, Paramount+ released a teaser for the upcoming installment in December 2024. The clip shows the Duttons fighting to protect their family ranch.
“There’s a war going on in Montana over my family’s land, and they’re losing it,” Spencer says, before announcing her intention to return home from Africa to help. “I know what to do. I’m going home.”
One month later, Paramount+ has released its official Season 2 trailerwhich confirms that Spencer will do whatever it takes to return to Montana and save her family’s ranch. “My family is in danger. My wife lost me and I don’t have time,” a beaten Spencer says at one point.
His mother, Cara, meanwhile, says she’s “praying” Spencer can come back after learning Whitefield plans to turn Montana into a playground for the elite.
Whitefield’s plan involves taking over the Dutton Ranch one way or another. “It’s time to build that army you promised me,” he tells his colleague Creighton.
Elsewhere in the trailer, Kara pulls out a gun and prepares to fight, as does her husband, Jacob. “Of all the things I had to do for this ranch, this is the most important,” Kara muttered from her seat.
Jacob vows to protect the ranch, but Creighton is ready to destroy all of the Duttons. “Kill them. I mean, kill all of them,” he orders.
The trailer ominously warns that the family must “defend or die” in an epic battle to survive and save their land.
When does ‘1923’ season 2 premiere?
Season 2 of 1923 will premiere on Paramount+ Sunday, February 23. New episodes will air every Sunday. Season 1 is currently available on the streaming platform.
