The Kansas City Chiefs won’t allow it their #1 ranking in the AFC to get to their heads – even with a possible back-to-back Super Bowl win on the line.

“I haven’t heard anybody talk about a three-peat (or) anything like that,” tight end Travis Kelceone of the team’s playoff captains, said in a preview for his upcoming ESPN an interview with Chris Berman. “Right now we’re focused on the Houston Texans.”

The Chiefs, who are ranked No. 1 in the AFC conference, battle the Texans in a Saturday, Jan. 18, divisional playoff game. The winner advances to the conference championship against the Buffalo Bills or Baltimore Ravens. Of course, the AFC champion will secure a place in the Super Bowl against the NFC’s own incumbent.

“Anybody can get beat in the playoffs if you don’t come in with the right mentality and the right mindset going into training camp and throughout the season,” Kelce, 35, explained before Saturday’s football game. “We have such a veteran team. We have so many leaders in so many different ways. Guys step up and guys just understand the task at hand.”
