Notre Dame battles Irish football fan Shane Gillis offered a prayer Monday night for his team to beat Ohio State in the national championship.
The comedian appeared in a Under armor ad in which he prays to God to help his team win their first national title since 1988.

The Fighting Irish are in the national title game for the first time since 2012, but the NCAA’s punishment for using ineligible players forced the team to forfeit wins that season.
“Hey, God. It’s me, Shane. I know I haven’t been here in a while, but I have a pretty big prayer for you,” he said in the ad. “Notre Dame is in the national championship on Monday. I know you know because you’ve been with us all this time – a few weeks ago, that field goal. I know there’s a lot going on, so that was pretty chill for you taking the time to help us with that.

“I should also say that I didn’t bet on any of these games… Okay, I did. But in the future, if Notre Dame wins, you won’t bet on games for a month. A few weeks. I I’ll probably bet on Sunday.
“Come on, God. I know you can help us. Truck drivers. Choose sixes everywhere. Maybe some Fumblerooskis! Please let Notre Dame win a national championship.”
Gillis was at Notre Dame’s victory over Indiana in the College Football Playoff quarterfinals.

He hit former Alabama Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban, who apparently rightly angry with Gillis about the jokes about SEC schools paying players.
