Music legend Kid Rock made fun of former first lady Michelle Obama for not planning to attend President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration. She said she “seems a little angry.”

Kid Rock, who will perform at the inauguration festivities on Jan. 20, argued that Obama should attend out of “respect for the presidency.”
“I would kindly remind her that years ago when (Barack) Obama was first elected, I didn’t vote for him, but they asked me to play the inauguration, and I played it and I went,” she said. Rock to Jesse Watters Primetime. Thursday night, remembering to have a “good time” regardless of politics.

“So I’d like to remind Miss Michelle of that,” Kid Rock continued, emphasizing that he attended former President Barack Obama’s inauguration ceremony out of respect for the presidential process.
According to new reports, the former first lady is skipping Trump’s inauguration rather than having to hide her disdain for the new president. Furthermore, sources close to Michelle Obama speculate that her absence has something to do with an act of defiance or that she “saved some credibility” by dodging Trump, according to a report from The Hill.

Obama has a history of expressing disdain for Trump. Ahead of the 2024 elections she called out to him at the Democratic National Convention for “doubling down on ugly misogynistic, racist lies as a substitute for real ideas and solutions that will actually improve people’s lives.”
Currently, former Presidents Barack Obama, George W. Bush and Bill Clinton, along with their spouses and former first ladies, will attend the inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump.

This absence marks the second major event Michelle Obama will have missed in the past two weeks. She was not present at first President Jimmy Carter’s funeral last week in Washington DC. Trump attended the funeral with Barack Obama.
In addition to addressing Michelle Obama’s absence, Kid Rock also expressed his own excitement about the inauguration ceremony, calling the new president a “great guy.”
