Host of the “Bussin’ With the Boys” podcast. Will Compton and Taylor Lewan are in the middle of negotiating a new deal with the media company and while it may have hurt their chances of winning Surviving bar stool season 4, also raised questions about the future of former NFL stars at Barstool.
“The ‘Bussin’ With the Boys’ crew is currently in negotiations for the next contract,” Compton shared during his Surviving bar stool confessional in January 2025 “You should think if you are Dave (Portnoy) and Dan (“The Big Cat” Katz)you can’t have the guys from ‘Bussin With the Boys’ going wild making $250K.”
The former footballer, who won Season 3 in 2024, was voted off the show shortly after his co-host Lewan.
“Winning a quarter of a million dollars and then potentially throwing a pair at us at the end of the year,” Compton continued. “So, hats off to me. Top of the cap. Dave the Big Cat, great guys to play with.’

Who are the boys’ hosts?

Compton, a former NFL linebacker, signed with the Washington Commanders as an undrafted free agent in 2013. He joined the Tennessee Titans in 2018. for one year before signing with the New Orleans Saints in 2019. and later with the Las Vegas Raiders. He returned to the Titans for a second stint in 2020 before returning to the Raiders in late 2021. Until September 2023 Compton announced his retirement from professional football.
Lewan, meanwhile, was selected as the Titans player of the year in 2014. and remained with the organization during his career, which ended in 2023 after sitting out the 2022 season with a knee injury.

Compton and Lewan launched the podcast with the Barstool Sports Network in 2019.

“Initially, (Barstool said) we’re going to go 50/50, you guys get the IP. We said no, but we’ll go 60/40 and the moment we eclipse $1 million, it goes to 70/30 (in) our favor,” the former athlete explained. “They agreed with it, then I was like, ‘Well… I think we’ve been playing the hell out of ourselves.’
Their “second deal” with the company was considered a “competing offer,” which meant they couldn’t shop their show. Compton said he and Lewan have since forged a “profitable” partnership with Barstool.
“Personally, I wanted to leave Barstool. I think they are the best brand for us at this point,” Compton said. “Ultimately, we settle on $3 million mg per year. We have a plus with that, every dollar made after $3 million.”

“Dave and I didn’t want Taylor or Will to win $250,000 in cash at the Barstool Networks and then be like, ‘Oh, by the way, we’re going for a contestant’ two seconds later,” Big Cat said on the January 2025 episode of the racing series.
Portnoy talks about this further during an episode on The Unnamed Podcast the same month.
“While filming (Surviving Barstool), I thought we were going to leave them, but going in, I knew they appreciated you,” noted the Barstool Sports founder. “They had an offer. They were like, “We’re going to look at the world, see what it’s like.”
Portnoy “didn’t want” to give one of them $250,000 from winning the game and have them leave the company. When asked during the same podcast episode if Compton and Lewan were leaving the company, Portnoy appeared coy.
“I’ll let them have their way,” he said. As of now, Bussin’ With the Boys Podcast. episodes are still released under the Barstool name.
