Earlier this month, Crispen spoke briefly about his new novel while appearing on “The Exclusive with Sharon Tharp,” sharing what was behind the decision to keep their relationship out of the limelight.

If anything, it just strengthens the relationship because it can be hard for someone who’s in the public eye to be with someone who’s not,” he explained. “And I remember how hard it was for me to be brought into it at first. It’s crazy to go from hearing opinions about yourself from your friends and family to walking into the show, walking out and hearing opinions thrown at you 24/7 on a grand scale. It’s not easy to deal with that.”

Crispon was previously engaged to his Big Brother costar Angela Romans. The two caused a show in 2018. and eventually bought a home together in South Carolina. In January 2021 Crispen proposed during a beach getaway.

“You make every day seem like a dream come true and I am now officially the happiest person on the face of the Earth,” he wrote on Instagram at the time. “I will love you to infinity and beyond.”

The duo eventually split after four years together in December 2022. Crispen later addressed the breakup, saying Us Weekly extremely that exes always would be “friends”.

“I’m not a big fan of burning bridges because she was such a big part of my life and I don’t want to have to look back on those memories and have a sour taste in my mouth,” he explained. “She will always have a special place with me and I think she knows that. I think staying friends with his exes is fine, y’all. It can be done.
