“Our family is so proud,” Spelling, 51, said via Instagram Story on Saturday, Jan. 11. “Right now we need levity. Watch @iamdeanmcdermott’s new film Polar opposites on Hallmark tonight.”
Polar oppositeswhich premiered on Saturday, is hosted by the network record from the “Winter Escape” programming.. The movie stars Rhiannon Riba like illustrator Emma, who hides on a cruise to Antarctica with engineer Andy (Markian Tarasyuk) in an attempt to help his ailing father working as a researcher in the arctic country. Emma’s father is played by 58-year-old McDermott.
Spelling and McDermott married in 2004 split up 19 years later in 2024 Together they share five children. (McDermott is also the father of a son, Jack, from a previous relationship.)
Earlier this week, Spelling and the children were forced to evacuate their Los Angeles home amid ongoing wildfires.
“The post I didn’t want to make… days of watching destruction and watching and living in fear,” Spelling wrote via Instagram on Friday, January 10. “I haven’t posted or shared before. Social media has been saturated (with ) incredible kindness, grieving loss, helpful shares and requests. I didn’t want to be redundant. But we were evacuated last night.
She added: “I tried my best to hang in there and not just run for the sake of running, but in the end I had to. My hearts go out to all who have lost and are suffering so much. But as a mother bear (with) 5 cubs and fur babies, your gut tells you when it’s time to take action.”

“Friends who care told me for days to pack my bags and have a plan. I should have listened,” she wrote on Friday. “I could barely fit us all. No clothes. But he grabbed photo albums. And ran away. … @airbnb saved us! Literally! They stepped in and found something to accommodate our huge family and pets that very night.”
Spelling went on to conclude that her family is “OK.”
“We’re one of the lucky ones,” she added. “It looked and felt like a movie I’ve seen too many times. … We are safe. I woke up to a koi pond and monarch butterfly sanctuary. Thanks, Dad!”
Tori is the daughter of Candy Spelling and the late Aaron Spellingwhose LA mansion was also lost in the fires.
A a series of forest fires erupted in Pacific Palisades and other surrounding neighborhoods earlier this week, devastating thousands of acres of property. According to local authorities, at least 16 people have died. Many residents also left their homes under mandatory and voluntary evacuation orders.
