On the Thursday, January 9 episode of Jenna Bush Hageris Open Book Podcast., TSITP creator and showrunner Jenny Hahn recalled trying to get a Swift song for the season 1 finale from the hit Prime Video show.
“I was trying to get it into everyone’s head that we needed this,” Hahn, 44, recalled of how she was willing to do “whatever it took” to get Swift’s “The Way I Loved You” Fearless album for the Season 1 finale. “I don’t think anyone thought we’d get it, to be honest.”
An Amazon Music representative offered Khan this she writes a letter to Swift35, about why it was “really important” to get the song on screen.

“I wrote a handwritten note about how much it would mean – not just to me – but to the fans. It was the gift I really wanted to give because I was like, ‘They’re going to go crazy for this,'” she recalls. “We were so lucky to get more than one (song).”

Second season raised the stakes by almost twice as many Swift songs, including “August,” “Sweet Nothing,” “Delicate (Taylor’s Version),” “Bigger Than the Whole Sky” and “Exile.”
“I felt that Taylor was a man who bet on women. And I felt like she bet on me,” Khan added on Thursday. “And I can’t say enough how grateful I am that she allowed us to use her music. And I think she knows too, her fans are going to love the show.
