Premier League Predictions: Matchday 14

Its a weekend Premier League The action has only just come to a close, but fans are already looking forward to the first taste of the midweek fixtures that the 2024/25 season has to offer.

The table is shaping up steadily, with runaway leaders Liverpool sitting pretty at the top of the tree after last win over Manchester City. However, they face a tough away day this week and the chasing pack will be sniffing to capitalize on any slippage for Arne Slot’s side.

Teams at down in the standings they also need to take control of their upcoming fixtures, with the likes of Southampton, Ipswich Town and Wolverhampton Wanderers still struggling after the latest set of results.

Gameweek 14 kicks off at Portman Road when Ipswich Town revel Crystal Palace. The two teams have just two wins between them – surprisingly both coming against Tottenham – but it’s the Tractor Boys who may finally get their second win of the season on Tuesday night.

West Ham United couldn’t follow up an impressive win over Newcastle against Arsenal, with his seven goals Their 5-2 loss reaching the first half. The pressure remains on Julen Lopetegui’s shoulders and the Hammers could be the victims of some sort of bounce back from the new manager when they face Ruud van Nistelrooy. Leicester Citywho themselves were rudderless in the defeat to Brentford.

Four games kick off at 19:30 GMT on Wednesday evening. Everton were truly awful as they gave up goal after goal in a heavy defeat at Old Trafford and Sean Dyche just needs to oversee a positive result against Wolverhampton Wanderers. Gary O’Neil’s side are back in the relegation zone after defeat by Bournemouth but have attacking stars like Matheus Cunha who could make life difficult for the Toffees.

Pep Guardiola was shaken as Manchester CityHis winless streak extended to seven games at Anfield. They would be heavy favorites at home against the opposition Nottingham Forest most years, but their lack of confidence could come to the fore again, with visiting striker Chris Wood back on the scoresheet against Ipswich.

Things couldn’t have gone much better for Arne Slot at Liverpool with over a third of the third season of the league now complete. The Reds have a nine-point lead in the title race and should have plenty in the tank to overcome a Newcastle group that has not found much consistency in this term.

Chelsea have emerged as genuine Champions League contenders and their dynamic attack should find plenty of holes SouthamptonHis defense to walk away from St Mary’s with all three points.

Arsenal he is well and truly back on track having secured three comprehensive wins on the bounce. The Gunners were clinical in their battle at the London Stadium and, while Ruben Amorim oversaw his first league victory as Manchester United The manager against Everton should continue their recent run with another win at the Emirates Stadium in one of the two games 20:15.

Another exciting duel arrives at Villa Park. Aston Villa have fallen to 12th place having failed to win a league game since mid-October and Bradford they are hardly ideal opponents to face while trying to end their barren run. While the Bees have the strongest home record in 2024/25, Thomas Frank’s outfit are yet to win on the road.

Midweek action concludes on Thursday, starting at Craven Cottage where Fulham hosts high-flyers Brighton & Hove Albion. The Seagulls were held by Southampton on Friday night but may fancy their chances of victory in west London against a Cottagers side who earned a point away from Tottenham last time out.

Tottenham they have the second best goal difference in the division but continue to slip away after impressive results. They could definitely win at Bournemouth if they turn up, but the Cherries rallied against Wolves and could beat Spurs if Ange Postecoglou’s troops are not careful.
