The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Crystal Kung Minkoff it becomes real Teddy Mellencamppublic comments about her divorce.
“I don’t think it’s a requirement for a podcast to be open and vulnerable. Every podcast is different,” Minkoff, 41, exclusively said Us Weekly at The Abbey’s 15th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting on Sunday, December 1. “But do I think Teddy should be required? Yes.”
Days after announcing their divorce from Edwin ArroyaveMellencamp, 43, appeared in her iHeartRadio “Two Ts in a Pod” podcast to separation address.
“At this point, I’m obviously only going to share what I’ve shared on social media,” she told the cohost Tamra Judge on November 5. “I’m just trying to — I don’t even know how to say this eloquently, but I’m just trying to do everything I can to make sure that my kids’ privacy is protected right now and that we can have all these conversations.”
Mellencamp and Arroyave, who married in 2011, share three children: Slate, Dove and Cruz. (Arroyave also welcomed daughter Isabella from a previous relationship.)
While Minkoff feels compassion and empathy for Mellencamp’s children, she remembers her former Bravo co-star speaking freely about other people’s relationship struggles over the years.
“I think if Teddy is going to go after everybody, she needs to open up more,” Minkoff said us. “My thing is, I don’t care personally, but I don’t do this to people. This is not expected of me. I’m generally super honest and open.”

She continued: “I care about her children so I don’t want that at the end. But I hope she will adapt in the future by dealing with other people’s personal affairs. That’s what I hope for her. I don’t need her to come up with any of that. This is their private life. But I want her to have a little more grace towards other people. That is what I would like.”
In a previous episode of the podcast, Mellencamp admitted that she often talks about the lives of other Bravo stars. At the same time, she intended to minimize discussion of her own separation for the sake of her children.
“Being someone who reminds other people of things, (it’s like), ‘Don’t be a hypocrite, Teddy,'” she said. “But when it comes to that and the kids, I think there’s a place … it’s a little bit different than going into ‘Jen Ayden reveals text exchange with Andy Cohen.’
This holiday season, Minkoff continues to explore what the world of podcasting has to offer with her own show called “Humble Bragging with Crystal and Cynthia.” Join from The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Cynthia Baileythe pair share their perspective on the week’s hottest topics and provide insight behind the scenes of reality TV.
“We’re from two different worlds, two different backgrounds, two different franchises, but when we sat in those chairs, I had no idea how much we actually had in common,” Bailey, 57, previously said us on the 1st annual The Gurus Awards. “Our chemistry is undeniable. … This podcast has given me the opportunity to really have a platform to talk about things that Crystal and I just want to talk about, and all in a good way. It all comes from love and positivity.”
