Ryan Reynolds was all smiles in his first red carpet appearance since his wife Blake Lively sued Justin Baldoni.

The Deadpool and Wolverine The 48-year-old actor stepped out in New York City on Tuesday, January 7, for the annual National Board of Review Awards, where he presented the Best Picture award to Wicked.

Reynolds cut a dapper figure on the red carpet wearing a gray suit with black satin lapels. The star completed her look with a sleek pair of reading glasses.

Wicked stars Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo and Ethan Slater joined the actor on stage at Cipriani Wall Street as he presented them with the Best Picture award. Reynolds was filmed hugging Grande and Erivo as they walked out on stage.

Tuesday’s red carpet appearance comes after Reynolds, Lively and Deadpool and Wolverineis a costar Hugh Jackman decided not to attend the Golden Globes on Sunday, January 5, Wed Lively’s legal battle continues with her It ends with us actor and director.

According to Deadline, Lively, Reynolds and Jackman decided not to attend Sunday’s awards ceremony long before It ends with us legal issuesand their respective absences are unrelated to the ongoing scandal.

Lively, 37, filed a lawsuit against Baldoni, 40, on Dec. 31, accusing him of sexual harassment and creating a hostile work environment on the set of their Colleen Hoover film adaptation. on the same day, Baldoni sued against New York Times for its coverage of an earlier complaint filed by Lively with the California Department of Civil Rights, accusing the publication of defamation and false light, invasion of privacy, among other things.

Months before Blake Lively filed a lawsuit against Justin Baldoni, her husband Ryan Reynolds blocked the It Ends With Us director on social media. “We plan to release every single text message between the two of them. We want the truth out there somewhere,” Baldoni’s attorney Brian Friedman told NBC News on Thursday, January 2. “We want the documents to be there. We want people to make a decision based on receipts.”

Reynolds, for his part, found himself embroiled in the Costars’ legal battle. On Jan. 1, WME said The Hollywood Reporter“There is an allegation in Baldoni’s filing that Reynolds pressured Baldoni’s agent in Deadpool and Wolverine premiere. This is not true. Baldoni’s former representative was not on Deadpool and Wolverine premiere, nor was there any pressure from Reynolds or Lively at any time to drop Baldoni as a client.
