Zendaya’s diamond engagement ring has a hidden meaning

Zendaya and Tom Holland are the ultimate power couple, and the engagement ring that Holland, 28, gave his longtime girlfriend is a sparkling reminder that they’re truly relationship goals.

When Holland popped the question over the holidays, he proposed with a show-stopping rock rumored to be from a London-based celebrity jeweler Jessica McCormackwho’s counting Madonna, Zoe Kravitz and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley among her many A-list clients.

The cushion-shaped diamond with a Georgian-style setting in 18k white and yellow gold is one of McCormack’s signatures. It is (as you would expect from such a large diamond) asking price – but experts have estimated it to be worth six figures. However, the meaning behind it is priceless.

East-West rings have an elongated diamond with a horizontal right-to-left arrangement instead of the traditional up-down setting. The design is said to represent the couple’s equal partnership and commitment. McCormack describes it as “a literal twist on the classic solitaire” and calls it “the perfect modern engagement ring…loved by cool brides for its clean, unconventional aesthetic.”
