Alison Holker revealed about the death of her late husband, Stephen “tWitch” Bossand revealed she made a “triggering” discovery just before his funeral.
Weeks after Boss died by suicide aged 40 in December 2022, Holker, 36, found a “cornucopia” of drugs, including mushrooms, pills and “other substances I had to look for in my phone”, hidden in Boss’s wardrobe.
“It was a really eye-opening moment for me because there were a lot of things I found in our closet that I didn’t know existed,” she said people in an interview published on Tuesday, January 7. “It was very disturbing for me to learn that there were so many things going on that I had no idea about. It was a really scary time in my life to find that out, but it also helped me realize that he was going through so much and hiding so much, and there must have been a lot of shame in that.
Holker noted that she knew Boss used marijuana during their marriage, explaining that he often smoked weed in the guest house at night after their children went to bed. (The duo, who married in 2013, share daughters Wesley, 16, and Zaya, 5, and son Maddox, 8.)
“It was his alone time,” she explained. “It was time to reload and that was OK.”
After Boss’s death, Holker reads his diaries, looking for clues as to what happened. She learned that he had kept many things hidden from her, including possible sexual abuse by a male figure during his childhood.

“He was struggling with a lot of things within himself and trying to heal himself and deal with all these feelings because he didn’t want to take it out on anybody because he loved everybody so much,” Holker said. “He didn’t want other people to take his pain.”
Holker – whose memoirs, So Far: My Story of Love, Loss, and Embracing the Lightgoes on sale Tuesday, February 4 — explained that she’s sharing her story in hopes that it can help other people talk about what they’re going through.
“Through certain discussions, even with friends and things that were said, reading his journals … you realize that he went through a lot as a kid and he never faced it,” she said. “It’s hard to think that he’s never opened up to someone and wanted to face them, come to the other side. I really hope that people who are dealing with the same thing will help each other come out of the shadows and (know) that you’re going to be OK.”
Last month, Holker marked the second anniversary of Bose’s death via Instagram.
“Our angel @sir_twitch_alot watches over us and protects us. You are always in our hearts and we will always love you. We miss you Steven,” she wrote. “Two years with you, you are not here, but you are always in our thoughts. We love you.”
After the death of Boss, Holker found love again with the boyfriend Adam Edmonds. The duo made their public debut at an event in September 2024. during New York Fashion Week.
“I never knew I could have that again,” Holker exclusively speaking Us Weekly the same month. “I actually feel like I’ve found such a great love and support system from someone.”
