White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre faced the press for the first time after President Biden on Monday forgave his son Hunter – an outcome that both Biden and Jean-Pierre previously insisted several times would not happen.
One reporter Jeane-Pierre asked if those previous statements denying pardons “could be viewed as lies to the American people.”
“One thing the president believes is that he must always be fair to the American people,” Jeane-Pierre said, repeatedly saying Biden was “struggling with (the decision).”Read more
