A group of wild boars terrorizes the city Irving, TXwhich frustrates residents as their properties are destroyed by the invasive animals.
As many as 10 pigs have torn up gardens and rooted through the rubbish left for rubbish collectors. according to WFAA.
Locals are becoming frustrated after repairing their gardens dug up by the pigs only for the animals to return to wreak havoc again.
“A few weeks ago I started seeing some digging on the ground,” homeowner Eric Mendez told WFAA, noting that he had placed a camera on a tree to capture the perpetrator.

“To my surprise there was a pig on camera,” he said.
But there was more than one pig digging up the site. There were as many as 10 of them, and some were quite large.
Others have also reported the pigs’ destruction, including Mendez’s neighbor, whose landscape was dug up, and Barbara Bush Middle School.
Waste is also spread across various buildings.
The city of Irving said it is aware of the problem and has a wildlife contractor to address the situation. Officials said they believe the pigs came from a wooded area near Grapevine Creek.
Feral pigs cause an estimated $400 million in damage per year in Texas, according to the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension, while the national cost is estimated at about $1.5 billion annually.

Farmers and ranchers who often face hog destruction can hunt on private land without a permit or hire someone to hunt the animals, with no limits on how many can be killed. But hunting them on public land requires a standard hunting permit, WFAA reported.
Homeowners in Irving initially came up with the idea of shooting and killing the pigs, but then realized they couldn’t fire a gun at the animals in a suburban area.
“My first thought was, I can shoot them,” Mendez said. “But I’m like, yeah, I’m in a neighborhood. I can’t just go out there and start shooting.”
Looking for alternatives, Mendez came up with the idea of using slingshots and clapping two pieces of wood to deter the pigs.

“I thought, can I do something here?” he said.
The pigs are known to attack pets and people when they feel threatened. They also reproduce quickly, as a single sow can give birth to up to two litters six to eight piglets every year.
“I didn’t expect something that big to crawl out of the creek,” Mendez said.
“It’s a hassle,” he added.
