“I wrote songs inspired by people that people have no idea who they are,” said 30-year-old Bad Bunny (real name Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio) in an interview with time Posted on Sunday, January 5th. “The meaning of the song can vary in many things, such as the absence of a person who is no longer with you, or love. But there may be many other things that are no longer there.’
In particular, the album’s title track “DtMF” deals with regretting a relationship while trying to make peace with its end. (The title of Bad Bunny’s last album, I should have taken more picturestranslates to I should have taken more pictures.) Many fans of the Puerto Rican singer assumed the breakup song was about his recent ex, a model and reality TV star Kendall Jenner.
The bad bunny and Jenner, 28, were first romantically linked in February 2023 when they were spotted on a date in Beverly Hills. The couple later attended the Met Gala in May of that year. Until their separation in December 2023. after that less than a year of datingthe couple largely kept their romance out of the public eye.

While the couple later settled for June 2024 date night in parissource extremely confirmed to Us Weekly in September that Jenner “decided she wanted space” and the couple were no longer an item.

While his latest album explores aspects of romantic love, Bad Bunny said time that I had to throw is also a tribute to his home island of Puerto Rico.
“Sometimes you might be a little nostalgic, a little sentimental… But at the same time you enjoy other things: playing dominoes with your grandparents or with the family,” he said. “Because we are also in Puerto Rico, we are at home, we are with the group: this is a reason to be happy, to be satisfied.”
