Selling the cityis Jade Chan threatened to sue Netflix while filming the show’s season finale — but is that still the plan?
“No, I won’t be taking legal action,” Jade exclusively said Us Weekly before Selling the citypremieres Friday, January 3. “I (actually want to) thank the producers for their beautiful way of telling this story and showing the spice that was there in that heated moment.”
Jade was thankful for the explosive final moments of Season 1 still showed his perspective.
“They were very respectful in knowing what was right and wrong in terms of (what to include). Because there was a lot more than one minute that was shown in that scene. So I appreciate and respect them for that,” she continued. “That’s really where those comments of mine were coming from. Because there were things under the belt, said on both sides – by Abigail (Godfrey) and me – that I would never want to be shown to the whole world.”
Selling the citywhich comes from I am selling Zalez creator Adam DiVellofollows Eleonora Srugois real estate group at Douglas Elliman which consists of Jade, Abby, Jordyn Taylor Braff, Taylor Middleton, Gisele Meneses Nunes and Justin Tuinstra. (Former New York million dollar listingis Steve Goldwho currently works for The Corcoran Group also appears throughout the season.)

Jade started the season on good terms with Eleanor, but not with Abby. Things between Jade and Eleanor, 37, hit a rough patch after Jade’s shady comments were raised. Although they were able to work it out by the end of the season, Abby felt that Jade made certain remarks about others without being held accountable.
“Jade runs away (from a conversation). I want to look into her eyes and I want to know what kind of person she is. You are my family and anyone who is with our family is going to get the fucking wrath of it. I don’t want to disturb a friend of a decade, do I?” Abby said during the finale. “This is fucking manipulation. If he doesn’t (admit it), he’ll look like the biggest ass.”
jade refused to talk to Abby on the screen. “I don’t want to do this. Get this off me,” she told a producer. “You are pathetic. I don’t hold a conversation like a 12-year-old. you don’t know me F — that. No.”
As the conversation grew more tense, Jade shot back at Abbycalling her “nasty” off camera.
“I’m not doing that. If any of this proc-king comes on air, I will sue every single one of your asses,” Jade continued. “I’m an old woman with a real career. That camera better get out of my fucking face. I’m not on a microphone. i’m done I’m not on a microphone. F— you, Netflix. F — Netflix. Well, everyone.

Jade said us that the moment had been building up all season, adding, “I hold it all in until it’s time to explode — and that’s exactly what happened. Obviously we were shooting the finale so we’re 12 weeks deep into it and there’s been a lot going on. It was a lot to unpack and I was seeing red.
The real estate agent was not thrilled that she personal comments were aired.
“I was shouted at and the things that were said to me came from Eleanor. At the end of the day, the things that were said were confidential and I felt betrayed, which is why I came to Eleanor,” Jade explained. “I tried to keep my composure. And she kept coming for me.

But now Jade don’t hold a grudge to her colleagues. “(Eleanor) is going through the process of overcoming my truth that was told on the show. I’m fine. There were jabs at me, but I really believe I was being completely authentic to myself,” she said us. “And we will get through this. She didn’t hold grudges about her revealing things about me and throwing me under the bus. It’s all right. I am not personally offended because I am confident in myself and in my authenticity. We will get through it.”
Selling the city is streaming on Netflix.
