Donna D’Errico Remembers Being Homeless Before Starring On Lifeguards

Donna D’Errico looks back on the more challenging moments of his life before he achieved success Baywatch.

“I was homeless for a while. I was homeless for about three months, in the beginning before that Baywatch,” D’Errico, 56, exclusively said Us Weekly while attending the mission’s annual Christmas celebration in Los Angeles. During the event, D’Errico gave back by providing food to others experiencing homelessness in Skid Row, a Los Angeles neighborhood that contains one of the largest homeless populations in the country.

“I understand and sympathize with their plight,” the actress continued, adding that “it’s important” for people experiencing homelessness “to know that they are also a solid part of the community.”

“They’re not just outcasts and things that everyone looks down on. A lot of people feel that way, but they shouldn’t be made to feel that way because we’re all human. Some of us have homes to live in and some of us, unfortunately, don’t,” D’Errico said. “So they are categorized in the homeless group. But I don’t like to do it. We are all human and some are better off than others and I want them to know that they are also important and valuable parts of society.’

As D’Errico reflected on her past, she noted that it was important for her to do so give back to the community and the homeless population in Los Angeles because, like herself, she knows people who have been affected by homelessness.

“Homelessness affected me in a few different ways,” she shares. “I had family that was homeless for a while, friends that were homeless for a while.”

D’Errico also took Instagram to share his support for the mission’s cause in Los Angeles while thanking the organization for the opportunity to give back. “Thank you @thelamission for allowing me to come volunteer for the past many years,” she wrote in a post shared in December 2024. “We served hundreds of Christmas meals today to many wonderful people who are down on their luck.”

Everything changed for D’Errico when she booked the role of Donna Marco, a blonde lifeguard bombshell on the classic series Baywatch. Since then, she has focused primarily on her work as an animal rights advocate.

D’Errico was created with her ex-husband, Nicky Six of Mötley Crüe, by her Baywatch co-star Pamela Andersonwho was previously married to a member of Mötley Crüe Tommy Lee. D’Errico and Sixx married in 1996. and officially divorced in 2007.

When asked if D’Errico had seen Anderson’s latest film, The Last Showgirl, which earned Anderson high praise for her performance, D’Errico said she wasn’t, but added, “Whatever she’s doing, I’m sure it’s fantastic.”
