Indiana quarterback Kurtis Rourke reportedly played all season with torn ACL: report

A quarterback from Indiana Kurtis Rourke’s season was already impressive, as he helped the Hoosiers to an 11-2 record and a berth in the College Football Playoff – their best season in program history.

What makes Rourke’s play even more remarkable is that he re-torn his ACL in August and played through the injury, the quarterback’s agent said. NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

Rourke first tore his ACL at the end of the 2022 season while playing at Ohio University.

Rourke will undergo revision surgery for the ACL on Wednesday, according to his agent.

As if playing through a re-torn ACL wasn’t enough, Rourke also played through a thumb injury.

During Indiana’s 56-7 win over Nebraska on October 19, Rourke broke the thumbnail on his right hand, his throwing hand, after being hit. X-rays later showed that Rourke’s thumbnail broke because he broke a bone in his thumb.

Rourke underwent surgery just a few days later, missing only one game and returning to play against State of Michigan on November 2 with two screws in his thumb.
