“I was 17 and I was stupid,” Culkin, 42, admitted of the prank in an interview with The Guardian posted on Saturday, December 28th.

Culkin and Ruffalo starred in the 2000 production James Lapin I play. The show was Culkin’s Broadway debut. The Succession alum admitted he saw a bag of props backstage and ended up deciding to replace one.

Just like a Mac! Kieran Culkin had a front row seat to his older brother Macaulay Culkin’s acting career long before he followed in his footsteps on screen. “It was pretty crazy. While Culkin’s actors see no harm in the stunt, the play’s stage manager does not share the same sentiment.

“Then the stage manager comes in and says, ‘I don’t care whose it is or what happened, but Kieran, give me the joint,'” he muses. “I sheepishly handed her the cockroach and she said, ‘Ruin your life on your own time.’

After the incident, Culkin learned his lesson and never pulled a similar stunt again.
