Garrett Irigoyen he’s going to be a dad! The Maiden woman alum’s wife Alex Irigoyenis pregnant with her first baby, Us Weekly can extremely reveal.
Alex exclusively said us that she found out about the pregnancy while Garrett, 35, was at work. “I was at home for a few days, just keeping the secret to myself,” she recalls. “I didn’t know if it was real. I was kind of cautiously optimistic.”
After Garrett, who is a firefighter, returned home from his shift, Alex surprised him with “lit candles” to set the mood and tell him her good news.
“I wrote a little card and shared the news with just him and then we were both very excited,” Alex said, noting they “kept it to themselves for a while.”
Several Bachelor Nation stars have welcomed little ones into the world this year or announced they have babies on the way. Garrett, who fans met during his time in the The Bachelor in 2018 he recalled being “super excited” when he learned he was going to be a father.
“I immediately felt dizzy. I was pumped,” he gushed. “She ran out and was like, ‘Oh my God, can you believe it?’ I was like, ‘No way,’ because I thought it happened so fast. (The couple revealed that Alex found out she was expecting in the summer of 2024 and was 16 weeks along when she spoke to us in mid-December.)
The two decided to hold off on telling their families until they saw each other in person during the holiday season. Garrett’s parents were the first to receive Christmas ornaments on Thanksgiving, revealing that their grandson is due in June 2025. Alex’s family received the happy news on Christmas Day when the couple reunited with them in San Diego for a week.
While Garrett and Alex have had time to process her pregnancy, they don’t plan to find out the gender of the baby. “We feel that there are only a few surprises you can get in life. So we’ll wait until the end,” Garrett said us.
The mom-to-be agreed, saying, “We want to share this moment (between) just the two of us. So we’ll wait until the day he or she comes, whether it’s a boy or a girl.

Garrett noted that he had no preference for sex, as long as he could teach his child to fish. “I’m just hoping to have a little fishing buddy, boy or girl,” he revealed. “Someone to go on adventures with us, travel the world together. I need someone to fish with me.
Garrett rose to fame when he won the Bachelorette Becca Kufrin‘s final rose during season 14 of the ABC dating series in 2018. The couple got engaged during the season finale, but she announced their separation in September 2020
34-year-old Kufrin found love with Thomas Jacobs after meeting in season 7 of Bachelor in Paradise. The couple got married in October 2023 after welcoming their son Bensonone month ago.
Meanwhile, Garrett, continued with Alex in Fall 2020. The two went public with their romance in October and got engaged two years later.

The couple said yes in November 2023 on the island of Oahu in Hawaii. “Forever until the end of the world… what a magical moment and the most perfect day,” Garrett wrote via Instagram at the time. “Couldn’t ask for a more beautiful bride and now wife.”
One year later, as the couple prepares to become parents, they couldn’t be happier. “I can’t wait to see her as a mother and I think it’s going to be a lot of fun together,” Garrett told us to his wife. “She’s going to give all her brains and athleticism and everything like that just adventuring around.”
Alex added that she knows Gareth “is going to be amazing” as a father, especially since he’s “talked about it for so long.” She gushed: “Seeing him light up every time we talk about things definitely gives me so much faith that he’s going to be an amazing dad.”
