president-elect Trump’s election victory was a disaster for the left – their worst Electoral College result since Bush the Elder overthrew Ronald Reagan in 1988. But instead of accepting it and trying to move forward, leftists and the journalists who love them are choosing another option: walking away.
Some want to run away from things that make them uncomfortable – like social media or media they’ve found friendly for just a few days – while others want to send in the Mayflower moving vans. Anyway, the new motto for the far left should be: “Run away!” in all his Monty Python glory.
Here are the five worst examples of the left pulling off their own great escape:

1. Goodbye X, hello why
Leftists have fled Twitter/X since Elon Musk first talked about purchasing it. Twitter quitters have run to Threads and Mastodon and now the latest, Bluesky. Some of social media’s most memorable voices for liberal madness have fled the coop and taken to the new platform. Actress Alyssa Milano, actor Mark Hamill, author Stephen King and former CNN host Don Lemon all hit the rocks.
JOE ROGAN ASKS TO TAKE OVER RACHEL MADDOW’S JOB IF ELON MUSK BUYS MSNBC
They were not alone. Some prominent companies like 3M and Balenciaga joined them, along with media outlets like the Guardian and the taxpayer-funded leftists at NPR. The Hollywood Reporter gave the typical media assessment: “‘Bluesky Has the Juice’: Celebrities Flee ‘Toxic’ X for Rival Social Media Site.” (Yes, free speech is “toxic,” but a left-wing bubble is juicy. There is no bias at all.)
And as soon as they got to their new house, they complained that it was poisonous too. Bluesky’s overworked security team posted this on November 15 during the exodus: “In the last 24 hours, we have received over 42,000 reports (an all-time high for a single day). We receive approximately 3,000 reports per hour. To put that into context, we received 360,000 reports in all of 2023.”
As Tim Curry sang on “Rocky Horror Picture Show”: “Because through the tears in my eyes I have seen blue skies.” It looks like liberal tears will be the reality for the next four years wherever they go.
2. Running from MSNBC
Leftists aren’t just escaping from social media, they’re escaping from… MSNBC? The far-left channel suffered a ratings collapse as viewers got their best impressions of two of the three legendary wise monkeys: They decided to hear no evil and see no evil.
LIBERALS RAGE AGAINST ‘MORNING JOE’ ‘BETRAYAL’ AFTER CO-HOSTS MEET TRUMP: ‘WE WILL NOT FORGIVE’
The Wrap reported that MSNBC’s viewership “fell 48% after the election.” Then there’s the far-left freakout like the network’s “Morning Joe” co-hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski met The Donald. The New York Post reported that the duo delivered “their lowest-rated program since 2021.”
And the crowd came after them too. Washington Post media writer Erik Wempe wrote, “Five Reasons Democrats Should Eliminate ‘Morning Joe’.” unhinged left-wing columnist Jen Rubin posted on Bluesky: “You can stop watching Morning Joe at any time.” A Salon commentary said: “’Morning Joe’ has to go.” And journalism professor Jeff Jarvis also posted on Bluesky: “Hmmm. What else are the liberals getting away with?…” above a screenshot from “Morning Joe” talking about Twitter’s defections.
3. Running from MSNBC II
Viewers aren’t the only ones fleeing MSNBC. The owners do the same. Comcast, which owns MSNBC, CNBC and a number of other cable channels such as USA, SYFY and E!, is putting them into a separate company. But since it won’t be part of the NBC Universal universe, the “news” channels could also lose their names. And who knows if NBC staff will show up again or not.
Host Rachel Maddow even agreed to take a pay cut from her massive salary, from $30 million to $25 million a year to keep her failing network afloat. The channel wanted to keep her, especially given the poor ratings. An executive reportedly called her “Viagra ratings.”

The one man potentially running toward MSNBC could be the world’s top billionaire: Elon Musk. When Donald Trump Jr. on Twitter suggested “the funniest idea ever!!!” When Musk bought the network, Musk’s immediate response was the same as when he was first asked about buying Twitter: “How much does it cost?” The bosses say it’s not for sale. But maybe Elon will give them an offer they can’t refuse.
4. Leaving the US
Every election, a left-wing celebrity claims he or she will leave America if their party doesn’t win. Someone pushed through this election. Former talk show host Ellen Degeneres and her wife Portia de Rossi have left for Merry Ol’ England.
Of course, that hardly touches on the long list of celebrities who said they were going away on a jet plane. This also includes actresses America Ferrera and Sharon Stone entertainers Cher and Barbra Streisand. If they do go, don’t expect them to suffer. The Biden-Harris economy made it difficult for ordinary Americans to buy food, let alone move. Millionairelibs weren’t affected much.

5. Four more years of leave
Florida-based Villa Vie Residences has announced the real Trump escape cruise package. With a starting amount of just under $40,000 per year, you can travel the world and avoid Trump the Sequel entirely. That’s the “4-Year Skip Forward” package.
Their press release states: “The extraordinary Continual World Cruise invites travelers to discover more than 425 ports in more than 140 countries on all seven continents as it circumnavigates the globe every three and a half years.” For over $160,000 you can see the world and avoid Trump, but you better pray to Gaia that JD Vance doesn’t win in 2028. And make sure you take a lifetime supply of seasickness pills, just in case.
