Newcastle transfer news
After struggling during the summer transfer window and ultimately failing to sign No. 1 target, Marc Guehi, Newcastle are expected to be one of the quietest Premier League sides again in January. Speaking on the matter, Howe admitted that signings were unlikely unless sales took place at St James’ Park, and suspended discussion of possible loan deals.
“The loan market is easy to get out there and say, ‘Let’s look at the loans,’ but the reality of these loans is very difficult,” he explained.
Howe added: “The thing about PSR and our position is that nothing is clear. Nothing is completely fixed. There will be a lot of upheavals in January. But we want to try to improve the team.”
Several players look set to leave the club, with both Kieran Trippier and Miguel Almiron have been linked with moves both have lost their places in Newcastle’s starting line-up this season.

Dubravka’s initial deal to leave Newcastle in January
This comes from a report from Saudi Arabia (Via Sport Witness), which claims that Saudi club Al Shabab FC have reached an “initial deal” to sign out-of-favour Newcastle goalkeeper Martin Dubravka..
The Slovakia international made his first start of the season against Leicester City at the weekend, filling in for Nick Pope after the latter suffered a knee injury.
He was called into action last season too, with one appearance against Liverpool prompting Howe to describe him as a “wonderful” goalkeeper.
Pope is expected to be out for around a month, during which time Dubravka will likely be called upon to deputize, but his return could allow the veteran to leave in the transfer window or sooner if Newcastle sign a new shot. -cap.
