Boston – It is not often that I get goosebumps at the start of a sporting event, and they last until the last buzzer. But that was the feeling that I had losing Team Canada while seeing Team USA at the 4 Nations Face-Off Championship in TD Garden in Boston.
The beauty of American patriotism could be seen from the whole crowd that sings the national anthemAll the way through the last whistle. It served as a precious memory that this game was more than just a game. It was the American people who met for a common goal: to beat our enemies.

I have treated many sporting events in my career, but nothing compared to this. Do you have the chance to see how my country takes on his biggest rival in hockey with a championship on the line? I get goose bumps again, I just think about it.

Before the game started, there was a drama about what could happen when the two countries had sung their folk songs for the largely American contingent at hand.
Americans would be the Canadian national anthem Booen, such as The Canadians did Saturday in Montreal?
The answer was … kind of.
In the end, however, this was never about Canada. This was about the United States of America. That was on a full display when Mike Eruzione, the Honorary captain of Team USA For the championship game came on the ice.
But it got even better. While the Americans are the Canadian national anthem of the Canade Biggest sports moments I have seen in my life.
It was easy to forget that there was still a hockey game to play, and a big one. Team USA seemed to feel the same and struggled early and eventually gave a goal in less than five minutes in the game.
If the Canadians thought that the Americans were to be on their home floor, they were seriously mistaken. While Team USA struggled to win early, the Americans kept pushing – and kept beating. Ultimately, the dirty work paid off with the binding goal leaves in the first period of, who else, Brady Tkachuk.
I know that journalists are supposed to be impartial, but come on? Do you think I don’t root for the United States? Become real.
The goal of Tkachuk tied the game on one and stayed in the first break.

The second period continued in about the same way. Although Canada was the faster and more trained team, it had a difficult time to match the physicality of the Americans. That physicality, led by Brady Tkachuk, has paid off at the second goal of Team USA halfway through the frame.
Jake Sanderson scored the goal, but it was Tkachuk’s wild pre -check and network presence that released the ice for Sanderson to move a past Canadian goalkeeper Jordan Binnington.
After the goal, the American fans sang “Jor-Dan, Jor-Dan” in Binnington, in an attempt to continue the controversial Canadian more than more.
Just like the Americans in the first period, however, Canada returned with a late marker to bind the score to two.
That goal sent the match to the third period tied up.
The Americans played a large part of the third period, surpassed and surpassed Canada and dominated the puck possession. But they couldn’t get the go-ahead goal.
As time started to tap the regulations, the tension was building in the TD Garden. You could literally feel it. But what else did anyone have expected? There was only one way in which this game would ever end, and that was overtime.
Bound two after a scoreless third part, the teams went in sudden death.
The US had opportunities in the extension, including a point -white shot from demonstrably the best player of the team, Auston Matthews.
But the failure to capitalize eventually cost the Americans. The best player in Canada, really the best hockey player in the world, Connor McDavid, did not miss the game on his stick.
The result smelled. There is no way to sugar jacket. But Americans see together to encourage their team, and more importantly, their country, was more important than winning a hockey tournament.
